okay, so this fashiony guy, or shall i say this duet of fashiony guys, who i never heard of made this movie/advertisement and it is supposed to be a tribute of sorts to the Black Girl...
Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler (mind you, these names mean not a damn thing to me) made this video with the same guy who did KIDS. now i know that KIDS was already controversial enough but at least it incorporated more than just one race AND more than one race was involved on the production side....
but this shit right here....??? this shit right here..... seems like low-level exploitation to me. specially since the whole team behind it is mono-toned....
in an interview, they SAID they were trying to, “find the beauty in something society has refused” and tell the story of girls who have been, “beaten down and disenfranchised, but still find something to believe in.” FUCK THEM.
